Polk County is using a critical communications systems to send warnings to residents to their phone numbers and email addresses.
By downloading Alert Polk NOW and providing information about where they live, residents can receive information about situations that may affect their health and safety, such as nearby wildfires or boil water warnings. The messages will contain specific information about the problem.
Emergency notifications will include tornadoes and severe weather, mandatory evacuation, gas leaks, sexual predator relocation notices, critical law enforcement notifications and hurricanes.
Residents will receive information relevant to the addresses they provide, such as their home, school and work place.
